About Aphrodisiology

Frank, research-backed sex education for curious adults, written by people who think great sex is worth learning about.

Our story

Talking openly about desire since 2006

Aphrodisiology started back in 2006 as a small, curious blog called The Study of Aphrodisiacs. We wanted to know which love potions actually worked, which were pure legend and which could get you hurt. Readers loved it, and the questions kept coming.

Over the years those questions got bigger and braver. How do I last longer? Why has my sex drive vanished? What is the best position for her? Is it normal to want more? So the site grew with them, from oysters and ashwagandha to positions, foreplay, dirty talk and sexual health.

Today we are a grown-up sex education library for curious adults. Frank, fun, backed by real research and written by people who think great sex is worth learning about.

What we believe

Four promises we keep

  • Honest about the evidence

If a herb only works in rats, we say so. If something is a dangerous legend, we say that too. No miracle claims, ever.

  • Pleasure without shame

Wanting better sex is normal. We write frankly about bodies, desire and what turns people on, with zero judgement.

  • Consent, always

Everything we publish puts consent, safety and respect first. Hot sex starts with everyone wanting to be there.

  • Private by design

No account needed, no creepy tracking and a discreet newsletter. What you read here stays between you and your screen.

How we work

From question to guide

  1. 01

    Research

We start with what people really ask, then read the studies, the history and the expert advice behind each topic.

  2. 02

    Write

We turn it into something you actually want to read: clear, a little cheeky and full of things to try tonight.

  3. 03

    Check

Every claim is checked against its source, and every guide carries a clear safety note where it matters.

  4. 04

    Update

Science moves fast. We revisit guides when new research lands and fix anything readers spot.
