Terms and conditions
A few honest ground rules, so this stays a safe and grown-up place to explore desire.
Last updated October 17, 2026
01The short version
Welcome to Aphrodisiology. We have been writing about desire, pleasure and the strange history of aphrodisiacs since 2006, and we want this to stay a warm, honest and grown-up place to learn.
By reading or using the site you agree to the terms below. If something here does not sit right with you, please close the tab. No hard feelings.
02Grown-ups only
Everything here is written for adults aged 18 and over, or the age of adulthood where you live if that is higher. By staying on the site you tell us you are old enough.
We talk about sex, bodies and pleasure in plain, frank language. Please do not open the site anywhere that kind of content is not welcome, such as at work or around children.
03We teach, we do not treat
Our guides are here to make you more curious and more confident, not to replace your doctor. Nothing on the site is medical, psychological or legal advice.
Herbs, supplements and so-called love potions can be powerful. Some react badly with medicines, blood pressure or pregnancy. Before you try anything you read about, talk it through with a doctor or pharmacist.
If something feels wrong with your body or your sex life, please see a professional. And in an emergency, call your local emergency number first.
04Play nice
Like any good bedroom, this place works best with a few ground rules. Please do not:
- copy, republish or sell our articles without asking us first
- use the site for anything illegal, abusive or hurtful
- try to hack, overload or break the site
- send us anything involving minors, people who have not consented, or hate of any kind
05Our words and pictures
The articles, illustrations, logo and design belong to Aphrodisiology or the people who made them for us.
Love something you read? Share the link, or quote a short line with credit and a link back. That is always welcome.
06Links, products and trust
Sometimes we link to other sites or mention a product, toy or supplement. We do not run those sites and cannot answer for their content, prices or promises.
A few links may earn us a small commission if you buy something. It costs you nothing extra and it never decides what we recommend. If we would not use it ourselves, it does not make the page.
07Letters and messages
If you join our Sunday letter you can leave whenever you like with one click at the bottom of any email.
When you write to us, keep it honest and respectful. We read everything, but we may not reply to messages that break these terms.
08What we can and cannot promise
We research every topic carefully and update our guides as new studies come out. Still, science around desire moves fast and we cannot promise every detail is complete or perfect.
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or harm that comes from using the site or acting on what you read here.
09Changes
We may update these terms now and then. The date at the top shows the latest version, and carrying on using the site after a change means you are happy with it.
